The Union’s Strategy

In favour of science, art and education

The Union Council approved a new strategy for the Union in its meeting on November 26, 2021. According to the new strategy, the Union has two strategic focal points:

1. in favour of the freedom of research and teaching, and of education, and
2. in favour of good work.

The Finnish Union of University Professors promotes Science, the Arts and Education, defends academic freedom and the autonomy of the university community, improves the prerequisites for professors’ operative conditions, and supports professors’ positive professional image. The Union’s values are research-based knowledge, education, member orientation as well as reliability, openness and daring.
