Directory of Professors

The Directory of Professors is a digital service. The printed Directory has been published in 2000, 2008 and 2024.

The Directory of Professors contains information about professors starting from the founding of Turku’s Old Academy in 1640. The Directory includes full professors from the universities and research institutes, tenure-track professors and those academic leaders and research institute management personnel with some history of professorship. The purpose of the Directory is to highlight the work of professors and their significance in society throughout history.

The provision of information to the Directory has been voluntary. For those who did not give consent to the publication of their information, in connection with the updated version in 2024, we have published only their calling name, last name, year of birth and most recent professorship. It was also possible to forbid the publishing of this information as well.

The Directory of Professors can only be accessed and updated by Union members and those individuals whose information is included in the Directory. A username and password are required for access. If your information is included in the Directory but you have not yet registered in the Directory, or you have forgotten your username, you can request a link from the office that will enable you to register.

If you want to order a printed version of the Directory, please contact the Union office by email at professoriliitto (at) professoriliitto.fi. The price of the printed Directory is EUR 100 for members and EUR 250 for others.
