Statement on open access policy component for compilations and individual works

The Finnish Union of University Professors defends European values and, at the same time, the freedom of research as a fundamental personal right. The Union condemns all means of restricting the freedom of research and does not accept any attempts to restrict the fundamental rights of researchers.

The Union feels that the legal basis of the freedom of research and the duty to safeguard it are not reflected in the draft of the open access policy component as regards collections and individual works.
