Statement to the Ministry of Finance on the Act on Research and Development Funding

It is the Finnish Union of University Professors’ opinion that the Government proposal improves the predictability of state research and development funding. The amount of authorisations and appropriations for research and development activities would be increased steadily on an annual basis, and, in the future, a long-term plan would be drawn up for the funding of State research and development activities and their monitoring. According to the Union, Government investments in RDI activities enable growth and well-being.
