The Board of the Finnish Union of University Professors met on 9 February 2024

The Board of the Finnish Union of University Professors met on 9 February 2024 and discussed, among other things, the labour market situation.

At its meeting, the Board:

• discussed the labour market situation. A political walkout coordinated by Akava was organised on 6 February 2024. In accordance with the policy of the Board, the Finnish Union of University Professors does not actively participate in organising political demonstrations.
• received an account of the current situation of the Directory of Professors.
• discussed the investment activity of the Union.
• took note of stakeholder meetings with The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra and the cooperation body of Finnish government research institutes, Tulanet.
• discussed the factors related to professors’ workload.
