Unemployment security

Unemployment security is paid to the unemployed job-seeker to secure his/her livelihood during that period in which he/she is seeking new employment or taking measures to improve his/her chances to find employment. The members of the Finnish Union of University Professors are insured by the Unemployment Fund for Education and Science (formerly Teachers’ Unemployment Fund) in case of unemployment.

Membership fee

The membership fee for members of the Finnish Union of University Professors who are receiving an unemployment daily allowance or on alternating leave is 60 euro/year (2024).
