In addition, the Board discussed the Union’s collective bargaining objectives for the next round of negotiations and took note of publication by Akava Works Gender distribution within higher education administration.
The General Meeting of the Union was held on 11.10.2024 – on the 55th Anniversary of the Union. Akava Works has published a study “Gender distribution within higher education administration”. The research data confirms our concern about the state of equality in universities and women’s career opportunities in upper management positions, says Tarja Niemelä, Executive Director of the Finnish Union of University Professors.
The General Meeting of the Union in Helsinki has been moved to a larger location. The lunch before the meeting at 12pm will be at the previously announced location, Marski by Scandic.
