The change negotiations at Åbo Akademi University have ended in disagreement. According to the negotiation proposal, the university is considering an organisational reform and the redundancies of approximately 50 people in order to balance the finances in the longer term, as well as laying off the entire staff in order to reduce costs of 2025….
Collective bargaining negotiations for universities are about to start
Negotiations on a collective agreement for universities start on 4 February 2025. The validity of the general collective agreement for universities ends on 31 March 2025.
2025 Pension reform
According to the calculations of the Finnish Centre for Pensions, the reform strengthens pension financing. Estimated at the contribution level, the overall reform would reduce the pension contributions under the Employees Pensions Act (TyEL) by, on average, 1.5 percentage points.
